On the first day of the new year, Lord God, pour into our hearts a rich measure of your grace, that we may live joyful lives of forgiveness. On this day you placed your Son under the Law to fulfill all righteousness; make us your obedient children. On this day our Lord was given his name; may we also be known by his name all the days our lives. Amen.
